A powerful Western Disturbance has blanketed the Valley on January 26 and 27, 2026.
Snowfall has turned roads white with snow-covered surfaces especially around Gulmarg and Tangmarg creating stunning winter landscapes.
Gulmarg received around 27 cm of fresh snowfall, while Shopian recorded a heavy accumulation of about 55 cm. Sonamarg and Pahalgam received 15–18 cm of fresh snow.
Srinagar also received fresh snowfall, with an accumulation of around 2–3 inches and continuous snow.
The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was temporarily closed due to snow accumulation, and flights at Srinagar Airport were cancelled amid poor weather
