Gulmarg Gondola Is Open Again — Plan Your Visit

Gulmarg Gondola has reopened after a month long closure. If a Kashmir trip is on your list, the wait is finally over.

On May 25, 2026, a sudden mechanical fault halted the gondola mid-ride. Over 300 visitors were stuck in cabins high above the ground.

Why It Was Closed

The gearbox was replaced. French engineers from Poma, the company that built the gondola. Successful trial runs cleared the system before public services resumed.

Rebuilt & Certified Safe to Ride

Rides run daily 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Walk-in cabin tickets are sold 8–9 AM only at the Gulmarg waiting hall. Online booking is faster, book in advance.
