After a 3-month dry spell, a powerful Western Disturbance has blanketed the Valley in snow.

First Major Snowfall Hits in Kashmir

Around 2 feet of snow recorded this morning in Gulmarg, 1.5 to 4 feet in higher reaches and 3-4 inches near the Srinagar Airport.

Over 17 flights cancelled due to poor visibility. Check your flight status with IndiGo or Air India before heading to the airport.

Srinagar Airport Operations Suspended 

NH-44 Closed near Navyug Tunnel & Ramsoo due to slippery conditions. Banihal-Baramulla rail section remains suspended until further notice

Road & Rail Blocked

The IMD predicts moderate to heavy snow will continue through Friday afternoon. Another (weaker) disturbance is expected around Jan 28.
