A new era of connectivity begins in Jammu & Kashmir.
The much-awaited direct Vande Bharat service between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar is set to be flagged off on May 02, 2026.
Forget the long, unpredictable road trips. The Vande Bharat will cover the 267 km distance in approximately 5 hours and 15 minutes.
Train 24601 departs Jammu at 6:20 AM and reaches Srinagar at 11:10 AM. Train 26402 leaves Srinagar at 2:00 PM and arrives in Jammu at 6:50 PM.
Due to high demand, the train has been upgraded from an 8-car rake to a 20-coach rake, allowing more passengers to travel at the same time.
Devotees visiting Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra can now easily extend their trip to the Kashmir Valley via this direct rail link.
Bookings are expected to open shortly on the IRCTC website. Are you ready to ride the rails through the Himalayas?
